Privacy and trust
Your prayers belong to you. Full stop.
What we do
Every prayer, reflection, and answered mark lives on this device, in this app, and nowhere else by default. Your journal is not uploaded to the cloud. Your journal is not synced to another account.
The only exception is the optional "Help me pray my words" feature in Settings. When that is on and you tap it, a single sentence is sent to our server so an AI can suggest a short prayer starter you can pray as your own. The details are on the next card.
We built this the way a journal works. You write, you close the cover, the words stay where you put them.
When your words leave the device
If you turn on "Help me pray my words" in Settings, then tap to use it, this is what happens:
- One sentence of text is sent over HTTPS to our server at faithlabz-prayer-journal.netlify.app.
- Our server forwards it to Anthropic's API, which returns a short prayer starter.
- The sentence is not logged. It is not stored. It is not used to train any model.
- No name, email, location, device ID, or other identifier is sent with it.
- You can turn the feature off any time in Settings. When off, no text ever leaves the device.
This is the only outbound network call the app makes that touches your words.
Our promises
- No accounts. No sign ups. No passwords to manage.
- No tracking pixels, no analytics beacons, no behavioral profiling.
- No ads. Not now, not later.
- No selling, sharing, or mining of your prayer data. Ever.
- No AI training on your words.
- No political lean. No denomination preference. Just a candle and a page.
Your data, in your hands
You can export everything you have ever written to a single file whenever you like. One tap. It downloads to your device and you choose what to do with it.
You can import that file later, or on another device, to bring your prayers with you.
You can also delete everything with a double confirm. When you do, it is gone from this device. No backup is kept.
All three live in Settings, under "You".
If you choose to share
The only time anything leaves your device is when you tap a share button yourself. Sharing a memoir image, sending a prayer to a friend, opening a link. Those are your moves, made on purpose, never automatic.
Your right to be forgotten
Because your data lives entirely on this device, you can delete it at any time from Settings. No request is needed and no server record exists to remove.
If you believe any data has been collected beyond what is described here, or if you wish to exercise a data subject access or deletion request under GDPR, CCPA, or any applicable privacy law, contact us directly.
